Prof. Vijaya Raghavan

Vijaya Raghavan, obtained his PhD (Agr Eng) from Colorado State University, his MSc (Agr Eng) from the University of Guelph, and his BEng (Mech Eng) from Bangalore University. He joined McGill in 1974 as a Research Associate in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, where he is presently a James McGill Professor. He was Departmental Chair from 1993 to 2004. His research is on post-harvest technologies related to drying, storage, and processing of foods. He has directed four CIDA-funded projects: Three on transfer of expertise and post-harvest technologies to southern India for the consolidation of food security, and one on transfer of expertise and electro-technologies to China for research into food processing and other applications. He directed one IRDC project on promoting use of millets in India. In 2012, he was inducted into the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), and into the National Academy of Agriculture Sciences (India) as a Foreign Fellow. He was President of the Canadian Society of Bioengineering (CSBE), and President of the Academy of Science of the RSC. He is currently the Director of the RSC. He was a member of the Food Expert Advisory Committee that provided informed advice to the Minister of Health.

Zhao Chunjiang, agricultural information technology expert, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Long engaged in modern information technology and agriculture integration application research. Innovative achievements have been achieved in agricultural intelligent system decision-making platform, key technologies of digital agricultural sky and ground information acquisition, beidou navigation control and intelligent operation equipment of precision agricultural agricultural machinery, Internet of things measurement and control of intelligent agricultural greenhouse, and agricultural big data cloud service platform, which have been applied in nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country. He has made a number of innovative research achievements in agricultural expert system, precision agriculture, agricultural Internet of Things and other aspects, realizing the deep integration of information technology and key links of agricultural production. To participate in the strategic planning of national agricultural informatization; It has established several national scientific research platforms such as Xiaotangshan National Precision Agriculture Research Base.

Daoliang Li, Professor and doctoral supervisor of College of Information and Electrical Engineering, China Agricultural University. His research interests include aquatic intelligent information processing and agricultural and rural informatization strategy. Director of National Digital Fishery Innovation Center, Director of Beijing Agricultural Internet of Things Engineering Technology Research Center, vice chairman of Agricultural and Rural Informatization Expert Advisory Committee, Ministry of Agriculture. He has been selected as young and Middle-aged Leading Talents in Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Outstanding Scientific Research Talents of the Ministry of Agriculture, New Century Talents of the Ministry of Education, and the winner of the National Innovation Prize, China Youth Science and Technology Award, National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker, and Fok Yingdong Young Teachers Fund. He is currently the chairman of the Agricultural Information Processing Branch of the International Federation of Information Processing in Agriculture, the chief editor of Information Processing in Agriculture, and the executive director of the Chinese Fishery Internet of Things and Big Data Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. The first accomplisher has won 1 Second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 3 first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and Technology Progress Award.

Hu Jiandong, professor of Henan Agricultural University, vice president of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. His research interests include optical biosensor technology and instrumentation, laser molecular spectroscopy. The main courses are sensor principle and Application (undergraduate), SCM principle and interface Technology (undergraduate), modern sensing Technology (Master), Intelligent Detection and Monitoring (Master).
